Thought it would be good but I am deeply disappointed in this app! Not a proper dictionary, the information is EXTREMELY sparse, basic words are not included while many unneeded listings are there. Worst purchase I ever made from the app store. Dont bother with this one.

Barely Works
I got this because I wanted an app that I could use to look up Japanese words I see that I dont know how to pronounce. This app includes handwriting entry, but it is so clumsy to use and then after all that, it usually shows no results. You have to manually select between kanji, hiragana, and katakana, so, for example, I wrote 長 and then had to switch to hiragana to be able to type the い at the end. And no, you cant switch after writing it; it just erases your input. It also often misses the first stroke or two when you start writing. So after I successfully handwrite 長い I press the Search button and it shows no results. The same happens for almost any kanji I handwrite. If I go back and use the keyboard entry, it works, but the whole idea was to be able to handwrite when I dont know the reading! Another annoying aspect, is that in the "Detail" of the word entries, a small っ is written as a normal つ so youre not even sure of the correct pronunciation of many words. This app needs a lot of work before its ready.
